Here is a 2 minute clip of Penguins of Madagascar they aired at San Diego Comic Con
You can see some of the motion graphics I designed in the background. The big map and the small monitors in front of the North Wind characters. If you look carefully you can also spot a bunch of graphics I designed in Dave's lab a bit blurry in the background.
A few days ago one of my best friends from Germany (Felix) came to visit and brought me this amazing surprise gift. We started drawing on this piece of cardboard when we used to be room mates working together on a short film about 8 years ago. By the time we were moving on separate ways this piece was only 60% done. There was still a lot of empty space to cover. I wanted to take it with me but Felix told me that he wants to finish it cause most of the drawings were mine and he wanted to contribute more to it. My good friend and mentor Stephan also contributed with a few drawings. Years went by and I totally forgot about this piece and now he brought it back to me "finished"!!! It felt like opening a time capsule. I love it!
I'm happy to announce that a trailer of the movie I've been working on for the past two and a half years was released today. "Penguins of Madagascar"
This is a show where I had/have the opportunity to do various things from color keys and prop designs to 3D set design, modeling, animated visualizations of effects and transformations, motion graphics and so on! I grew a lot artistically but also technically and I'm incredibly grateful. I still have a few months to go before it's going to be released on November 26th this year! It's going to be a hilarious, action packed movie so stay tuned!
You can actually see some work I did in this trailer. I created the head up display in the very first shot and I designed and animated all the motion graphics you see in the background when skipper is eating the Cheezy Dibbles. Yay!
